Many determine that Ellen stipulates a church, and that church is fixed in an organization, and personal union with that organization and its orders would determine one of the factors for salvation. In other words, they stipulate that if management determines that a type of thing should be done, it is automatically from God. Such a claim is not maintained in the writings of Ellen White.

In a lecture Ellen is quoted as saying " we hear that the voice of the conference is the voice of God. Every time I have heard this, I have seen through it that it was almost blasphemy. " ² , it is soon clear that the " voice of the conference " ² is not the voice of God, so any statement or determination that comes from it should not be accepted without due investigation through the word of God given to his prophets.

Note that it is quoted by Ellen in the Adventist magazine " The Bible is the voice of God to his people. " ⁴ , therefore having a fixed system, others must be based on it. But the vast majority of people do what has also been reported, " We are doing this men's words as our advice. " ⁴ , which is also given the explanation of the correct " We are not deviating from the advice of the Most High to ask for guidance from men. " ⁴ , so guidance from men is not the voice of God, and so it was written" we hear that the voice of the conference is the voice of God. Every time I have heard this, I have seen through that it was almost blasphemy.² .

To this end Ellen made it clear what the true church of God is like, assigning negative elements, contained in a letter to the Foss family, in which she quotes:

1. " It is not the great cathedral " ⁶

2. ^" nor is it a national establishment ^{" 6}

3. ^" nor the various denominations ^{" 6}

From this the true church of God is described

1. " she is the people who love God and keep his commandments " ⁶

2. ^" Where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am among them ^{" 6}

3. ^" Where is Christ, even among the humble few, this is the church of Christ ^{" 6}

4. ^" by the presence of the High and Holy One who dwells in eternity, he can only constitute a church ^{" 6}

We see, therefore, that Ellen does not drag an institution to the church of God, because it determines that it is " the people who love God and keep his commandments " ⁶ , if a church determines something like it says " we hear that the voice of the conference is the voice Every time I have heard this, I have seen through it that it was almost blasphemy. " ² , soon a church that follows the" voice of the conference " ² , when the conference is not following" The Bible is the voice of God to his people. " ⁴ , therefore everyone who follows" the voice of the conference " ² , is not in the church of God because"she is the people who love God and keep his commandments " ^6. If the people love God, do not" deviate from the advice of the Most High to ask for guidance from men. " ⁴ , because in doing so she loves men more than God, so they are not the church of God because" she is the people who love God and keep his commandments " ⁶ .

Such a description on the part of Ellen is fully in accordance with the sacred scriptures previously exposed.

The night before last I slept for only one hour. I was revolving over and over in my mind the matters of which I have spoken this morning. I asked myself, Will I be free when I go from this place if I say nothing about them? Will I stand free before God? I did not mean to say a word. I thought that when the Spirit of God came into our meetings there would be those who would understand that they had something to say in order to remove the reproach of heaven which for years has rested upon the work here. Many of those who acted a prominent part in the wrongs done are not here, but there are those here who have been following the same principles of wrong. To forsake right principles is like taking away the foundation of a house. If men who have grown to manhood cannot understand what pure principles mean, they might better go apart and meditate and pray until they understand this. From the light which I have had, I know that principles which do not meet the approval of heaven have been followed. {2SAT 159.4}

 It is working upon wrong principles that has brought the cause of God into its present embarrassment. The people have lost confidence in those who have the management of the work. {2SAT 159.5}

Yet we hear that the voice of the conference is the voice of God. Every time I have heard this, I have thought that it was almost blasphemy. The voice of the conference ought to be the voice of God, but it is not, because some in connection with it are not men of faith and prayer; they are not men of elevated principle. There is not a seeking of God with the whole heart; there is not a realization of the terrible responsibility that rests upon those in this institution to mold and fashion minds after the divine similitude. {2SAT 159.6}

These things have kept my soul in great distress. At times I rise above it a little and yet I know that the wound is not cured, because if it were the matter would not be continually presented to me. A thing that is healed, is healed. I was referred to the case of Achan. The entire congregation of Israel was affected by Achan
