The prophecy of the birth of Esau and Jacob

We see the verse:

Gen 25:23 And the Lord said to him, Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples will be divided from your strangers, and one people will be stronger than the other people, and the oldest will serve the youngest.

The verse speaks of Esau person, and Jacob person, or speaks of the people who are descended from these two individuals. Here we read clearly, "Two nations are in your womb", now we are talking about nations. And the "older people will serve the younger".

Did this prophecy occur? Yes it did.

First we have that Jacob's descendants went down to Egypt, and Esau's descendants settled in Seir.

Deu_2: 22 just as he did for the sons of Esau, who live in Seir, when he destroyed the Horites from before them; and the sons of Esau, having dispossessed them, dwelt in their place to this day.

We can see the Seir region on the map on the side.

Seir is the region concerning the tribe of Judah towards Egypt, so that all that region of the people of Esau should be dominated to build the region of Israel. After the captivity in Egypt, the people conquered the regions of the descendants of Esau and this people of the eldest became servants of the youngest that is Jacob.

God's prophecies come to fulfill, but it is necessary to understand what is written and not to imagine what may be written.

In another verse we see Moses defining prophecy.

Num 20:14 From Kadesh, Moses sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, Thus says your brother Israel: You know all the work that has come upon us;

See that Moses treats Edom as a brother as the prophecy says, " So says your brother Israel ." So the prophecy says that the oldest will be the servant of the youngest. What does the older brother do?

Num_20: 21 So Edom refused to let Israel pass by his terms; so Israel turned away from him.

But the prophecy had to be fulfilled.

Num 24:17 I see him, but not in the present; I contemplate it, but not closely; a star will come from Jacob, a scepter will rise from Israel, which will strike Moab's terms, and will destroy all the proud children.

Num 24:18 And Edom will be a possession to him, and so will Seir, who were his enemies; for Israel will do exploits.

Which ends the compliance with the verse.

1Sa_14: 47 When Saul took the kingdom over Israel, he fought against all his enemies around him: against Moab, against the children of Ammon, against Edom, against the kings of Zoba and against the Philistines; and wherever he turned, he was victorious.

Therefore, we have to know that God knows all things and the future has been discovered. It is great to know that God does not know what is going to happen to a person, but to multitudes in centuries, and what God determines it happens, no matter how many people, and how long it takes. Whatever God says it will happen.
