Romans 8:27 And he who searches the hearts knows the intention of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.

In one of the translations we have the concept "mind", in the others we have the "intention". The term in question is "φρόνημα (phronēma)", which in the lexicon defines "inclination or purpose".

In the bible we have only two accounts of this term. That are:

Rom 8: 6 For the inclination of the flesh is death; but the Spirit's inclination is life and peace.
Rom 8: 7 For the inclination of the flesh is enmity against God, for it is not subject to the law of God, nor indeed can it be;

In Greek we have

Making a parallel we would have, in Rom 8: 6 (inclination of the flesh) or (mind of the flesh), (inclination of the spirit) or (mind of the spirit).

See that in all three verses we have {8,7,27}, ( φρονημα του πνευματος), that is, the term in rom 8:27 is talking about the spirit of man, and not the spirit of God. 

So the term ( φρονημα του πνευματος) is not talking about the holy spirit, but about the spirit existing in man. Not defining (mind of the flesh) or (mind of the spirit), but intent, or way in which the individual is carried, inherent will.

When we read "And the one who examines the hearts knows what the Spirit's intention is", the heart of man and the spirit of man are speaking. Not as two separate individuals, but with the inclination that man takes.

Many people look for this verse to define the concept of the trinity, when not even the text refers to this concept. The term refers to man, and the characteristics of an individual. We try to force a trinity in a text that does not work with this theme. The aim of the text is for man to seek the inclination of the spirit which is the will to do good things, and not to follow the inclination of the flesh, which is to seek the pleasures of the body.

Idealizing the Trinitarian concept of the divinity of the spirit, forming a personality with this text, is certainly a desperate search, not an analytical one. The text in Romans 8, is leading man to seek the right paths, going towards the inclination of heavenly goals. You cannot create a Trinitarian system in these texts, the objective is totally different.

It is very natural for people with an intention to go blind to the text in the full scope, to justify their positions. The texts have textual interconnections, which define a thematic principle. To analyze a text purely by an ideology, is to nullify the total context of the scriptures. The unbridled search for trinitarianism in texts ends up destroying the real idea of ​​sanctification contained in the scriptures.
