Baptism with Holy Spirit
Mark 1: 8 I baptized you with water; but he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit.
Many people question whether baptism is of the Holy Spirit, it is in the Holy Spirit. Now the verse says that whoever will baptize in the Holy Spirit is Christ. Therefore, Baptism is Christ who does, with the Holy Spirit. For example, water baptism is by John the Baptist, and he baptizes in water. Now baptism is not the water that makes, but John the Baptist, so the baptism with Spirit is Jesus who does.
Mat 3:11 I, indeed, baptize you in water, on the basis of repentance; but he who comes after me is more powerful than I, who am not even worthy to take his sandals; he will baptize you in the Holy Spirit, and in fire.
Water baptism does not automatically require you to be baptized in the Spirit, sometimes it occurs later.
Act 19: 5 When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
Acts 19: 6 When Paul had laid hands on them, the Holy Spirit came upon them, and they spoke in tongues and prophesied.
What would it be like to be filled with the spirit?
Eph 5:18 And do not get drunk with wine, in which there is wantonness, but be filled with the Spirit,
Act 13:52 The disciples, however, were filled with joy and the Holy Spirit.
Now we have the term to be filled with joy and the Spirit, what would be filled with joy? Full of joy is not being sad, or not having sadness in your heart, and so full of the Spirit is not having another spirit contrary to the Holy Spirit. For example, the spirit of the world that is against the spirit of God.
But when is the Holy Spirit received?
Let's say that a person does not receive the Holy Spirit, can he convert? Can she regret it? Let's say, for example, that a man knows only one way, if by chance nobody shows another way can man decide on the way he does not know? Thus, without the Holy Spirit, man cannot know God, so without receiving the Spirit of God he does not have the ability to take the right path. Soon we all received the Holy Spirit.
But Baptism with the Holy Spirit is when the spirit of the world is left and the will of God is surrendered through his spirit.
So baptism with the Holy Spirit is nothing more than leaving the evil spirit, and thinking only of the Spirit of God, as being filled with joy is empty of sadness.
Sanctification and the Spirit.
When we speak holy we are referring to the separation of something for a specific effect. When we speak of the Bible, the term holy is defined for things consecrated and determined by the will of God. When we say holy God, we are saying that God obeys his same laws that are just. If we speak holy man, we have that man is dedicated to doing the will of him who sanctifies him. See that santo is an adjective, and the noun is the previous part. If I say that the Temple is Holy, then we have that an object is dedicated to divine actions. Just as when we say the Holy Spirit, we have that the spirit is dedicated to divine actions.
For example when reading the text.
Rom 1: 3 concerning his Son, who was born of the seed of David according to the flesh,
Rom 1: 4 and who with power was declared Son of God according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead - Jesus Christ our Lord,
We have that Christ has its human part according to the flesh according to the descendants of David, and its spiritual part coming from God. Now let's say that the term spirit of holiness is a being, so the flesh would necessarily be another being. Which is irrational. What we have is that Jesus has his carnal and his spiritual part, being one person. Knowing that as Jesus lived a holy life, then he had the spirit of holiness. And so Jesus said.
Mar 14:38 Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation; the spirit is actually ready, but the flesh is weak.
So Jesus has the spirit of holiness, even though he knows that the flesh is weak.
Thus holiness involves the spirit, so each man must dedicate his spirit to sanctification, through the very spirit of God. So it is necessary for man to get in touch with the Holy Spirit of God and try to adapt his spirit to the spirit of God. We cannot be holy without knowing what is holy, and only a holy being can show what holiness really is. But the decision to choose is up to each man. It is the man who chooses whether or not he wants to be like God. Were God to control our decisions, we would be robots and there would be no reason why sin should come into existence. Sin only has a sense of existence in a universe with conscious beings who can decide their way. God's act of knowing people does not mean that they do not have the right to choose. It only determines that evil is under control, if God were not aware of everything we could, when evil entered the universe, we have no security that it could be destroyed. In addition to having to imagine a god without forces, which would end up defining that the universe does not exist, because only an infinite God who could build a universe with infinite rules.
