Guard your foot, when you enter the house of God, be reverent; because whoever approaches to listen is better than the fools who offer sacrifices without knowing that they are doing evil.
Do not be hasty with your mouth, nor let your heart be quick to say a word before God; because God is in heaven, and you are on earth; so let your words be few.
Because dreams are born out of many occupations, from much talking the idle conversation of the fool is born.
When you make a promise, keep it without delay; for fools displease God; do what you promise.
It is better that you do not promise than you promise and do not fulfill.
Do not let your mouth cause you to sin, nor say to the angel that it was a mistake; why let it irritate God with what you say and let it destroy what you have accomplished?
For as in the multitude of dreams there are vanities, so also in the many useless words; but you fear God.
If you see a poor person being oppressed in a province and see their rights and justice denied, do not be surprised at such a procedure; for every officer is subordinate to someone who occupies a higher position, and over them there are others in an even higher position in which he is guarded.
Even so, it is an advantage for the nation to have a king who governs it and is interested in agriculture. The benefit of the land is for everyone; even the king makes use of the field.
Whoever loves money will never have enough; and whoever loves abundance will never be satisfied with his income; this also doesn't make sense, vanity is.
When goods increase, so do those who consume them. And what benefit do the goods bring to those who own them, if not to give a little joy to their eyes?
Sweet is the sleep of the worker, whether he eats little or a lot; but the rich man’s abundance doesn’t let him sleep peacefully.
There is a serious evil that I saw under the sun, and it attracts illness: the wealth that its owners keep for their own harm;
Because the same riches are lost by any bad luck, and If his riches are lost in a bad deal,
nothing will remain for the child that is born to him.
As naked he left his mother's womb, so naked he will become, and as he came, so he goes. Of all the work he has endeavored to take, he will take nothing with him.
So, I also saw that this is a terrible evil that, just as it came, so it will go; and what benefit it comes from working for the wind,
And to have eaten all your days in darkness, and to have suffered a lot of boredom, and sickness, and fury?
Here is what I saw, a good and beautiful thing: to eat and drink, and to rejoice each one of the good of his work, in which he worked under the sun, all the days of life that God gave him, because this is his reward.
And when God gives someone wealth and goods and enables him to enjoy it, to accept his luck and to be happy in his work, it is a gift from God. Thus, this person rarely thinks about the brevity of his life, because God keeps him busy with the joy of his heart.
