in?stroo-ment (כּלי, kelı̄; in Greek plural ὅπλα, hópla, Rom_6:13): The word in the Old Testament is used for utensils for service, chiefly in connection with the sanctuary (compare Exo_25:9; Num_4:12, Num_4:26, Num_4:32; 1Ki_19:21; 1Ch_9:29; 2Ch_4:16, the King James Version); for weapons of war (1Sa_8:12; 1Ch_12:33, 1Ch_12:17, etc.); notably for musical instruments. See MUSIC. The members of the body are described by Paul (Rom_6:13) as ?instruments? to be used in the service of righteousness, as before they were in the service of unrighteousness.
