(Heb., Anan', עָנָן, cloud; Sept. ᾿Ηνάν v. r. ᾿Ηνάμ, one of the chief Israelites that sealed the sacred covenant on the return from Babylon (Neh_10:26), B.C. cir. 410.
In the apocryphal list of the temple-servants, whose descendants returned from the captivity, the same name (Α᾿νάν) occurs (1Es_5:30) in place of the HANAN SEE HANAN (q.v.) of the genuine text (Ezr_2:46).
