a-bı̄?dan (אבידן, 'ăbhı̄dhān, ?father is judge?): Abidan, son of Gideoni, was a ?prince? of the children of Benjamin (Num_2:22; Num_10:24). He was chosen to represent his tribe at the census in the wilderness of Sinai (Num_1:11). When, on the erection, anointing and sanctification of the Tabernacle, the heads of Israel offered, Abidan offered on the ninth day (Num_7:60, Num_7:65).

Abidan
(Heb. Abidan', ) אֲבַידָן, father of judgment, i.e. judge; Sept. Αβιδάν), the son of Gideoni, and phylarch of the tribe of Benjamin at the exode (Num_1:11; Num_2:22; Num_10:24). At the erection of the Tabernacle he made a contribution on the ninth day, similar to the other chiefs (Num_7:60; Num_7:65), B.C. 1657.
