A hammer: meefits, mafts (Pro_25:18). In Jer_51:20 translated "maul" for "battle axe." So Jer_50:23 Babylon "the hammer of the whole earth," i.e. the mace or war club; as the king of the Franks was Charles "Martel," i.e. little hammer. (Nah_2:1.)
