pôr?pus (the Revised Version margin has ?porpoise-skin? for תּחשׁ עור, ‛ōr taḥash, the Revised Version (British and American) ?sealskin,? the King James Version ?badgers' skins? (Exo_25:5; Exo_26:14; Exo_35:7, Exo_35:23; Exo_36:19; Exo_39:34; Num_4:6, Num_4:8, Num_4:10, Num_4:11, Num_4:12, Num_4:14, Num_4:25; Eze_16:10)): The word denotes leather used in the furnishings of the tabernacle (for shoes in Eze_16:10), and was probably the skin of the dugong, Halichore dugong, Arabic tukhas, which is found in the Red Sea.
