sē?a (סאה, ṣe'āh): A dry measure equal to about one and one-half pecks. See WEIGHTS AND MEASURES.

(סֵאה, seah, from the obsolete סְאָה, saah, to 'expand), a Hebrew measure, properly for grain (A.V. always "measure;" Gen_18:6; 1Sa_25:18; 1Ki_18:32; 2Ki_7:1; 2Ki_7:16; 2Ki_7:18); containing, according to the rabbins, the third of an ephab, i.e. nearly one and a half pecks English; according to Jerome (On Mat_13:33), a modius and a half. From the Aramaean form has sprung the σάτον of the Sept., New Test., and Josephus. SEE METROLOGY,
