(1) A Levite, son of Amram (1Ch_24:20); one of the leaders of song in the temple (1Ch_25:20). See SHEBUEL; Gray, HPN, 310.

(Heb. Shubael', שׁוּבָאֵל, i.q. Shebuel; Sept. Σουβαήλ v.r. Σωβαήλ, etc.), the name of two Levites, both elsewhere called SHEBUEL SEE SHEBUEL (q.v.), namely, (a) a son of Gershom (1Ch_24:20; comp. 23:16; 26:24); and (b) a son of Heman (1Ch_25:20; comp. 1Ch_25:4).
