thar?a (Θαρρά, Tharrá): One of the two eunuchs, ?keepers of the court,? who with his companion Gabatha (Bigthan) formed a conspiracy against King Artaxerxes which was detected by Mordecai (Additions to Esther 12:1 = ?Teresh? of Est_2:21; Est_6:2). Tharra and his companion were hanged. Josephus (BJ, II, vi, 4) calls him ?Theodestes.?
