A town of Gad, E. of Jordan (Jos_13:27). Same as Bethharan (Num_32:36); ages later named Libias or Livias, from the emperor Augustus' wife, Livia. In the wady Seir, which falls rate the Ghor, opposite Jericho.

Beth'-aram. (house of the height). Accurately Beth-Haram, one of the towns of Gad, on the east of Jordan, described as in "the valley," Jos_13:27, and no doubt, the same place as that named Beth-Haran in Num_32:36.
