("house of firmness".) Situated probably in the shephelah or low hilly land of Judah, near Zaanan or Zenan (Jos_15:37). Though Bethezel means the house on the side, i.e. near Zaanan, it got no comfort from Zaanan's inhabitants in its mourning (Mic_1:11). There was an Azal near Jerusalem (Zec_14:5) (See ZAANAN.)

Bethe'zel. (neighbor's house). A place named only in Mic_1:11. From the context, it was doubtless situated in the plain of Philistia.
