AWAY WITH.This phrase is used idiomatically with the force of a verb in Isa_1:13 the calling of assemblies, I cannot away with, i.e. tolerate. This verb is omitted (= get away with, i.e. in mod. English get on with).

(1) ?To endure,? ?to bear with? (Isa_1:13), ?I cannot away with iniquity and the solemn meeting,? i e. endure the combination of wickedness and worship. In the Hebrew merely, ?I am unable iniquity and the solenm meeting.? (2) To destroy αἴρω, aı́rō̌. Found in such expressions as Act_22:22, ?Away with such a fellow from the earth.?
