On the border of Ephraim (Jos_16:6-7). Now Yanun, about 12 miles S.E. of Nablus (Neapolis) or Shechem. N.E. of Yanun is Khirbet Yanun, which may be the site of the original town.

Jano'hah. (rest). A place on the boundary of Ephraim, Jos_16:6-7, east of Neapolis. A little less than twelve miles from Nablus, and about southeast in direction, two miles from Akrabeh, is the village of Yanun, doubtless identical with the ancient Janohah.
