First, any kind of violence or brutality is wrong. Man must always use the maximum of balance and logic to act.
The vandalization of statues can determine an effect of irrationality and ignorance of historical and social facts.
In the period of June and July 2020, a wave of vandalization and destruction of statues, appeared in the world through the initial banner of going against racism.
But does destroying statues really help?
History is full of actions that would be considered criminal today. The Greeks killed children, if they were not born perfect. So should we destroy all Greek research, and deny the existence of such authors?
Thinkers, and ancient researchers, were supported and their research paid, for slave, and colonialist actions. So should we destroy and cancel your research?
The basis of indutrialism, were developed by slave labor, and so should we live in caves?
In fact, the whole society exists today, in the current molds, they occurred through wars, crimes, perversions, and along with these things came technology, science, research, and all the facilities we have today.
This does not mean that we must do what is wrong, but it is irrational to think that our current life comes from a pure and immaculate lineage. That our ancestors were just, upright and unblemished people.
Society is the by-product of all past actions, whether they are considered good or bad. Ignoring that past doesn't make anyone better, it just makes them ignorant.
The change is not made by brutality, or vandalism, it is made by ideas. It is done by peaceful analysis, and judicious judgments. To act in an animalistic way is to be similar to the very symbols that they set out to destroy.
Be it any idealism that is sought, it will only be correct if it is calmly thought out, rationally justified, and the hypocrisy of the act does not exist.
