Código VI03-E0005-I
Christians learn that they must strive to improve their lives to the point of being holy.
1Pe 1:14 As obedient children, do not conform to the lusts that you once had in your ignorance;
1Pe 1:15 but as he who called you is holy, you also be holy in all your conduct;
1Pe 1:16 for it is written, Ye shall be holy, for I am holy.
But holiness is something that needs a struggle to achieve, it is not an easy thing, Paulo even quotes.
1Co 9:27 Rather I subdue my body and reduce it to submission, so that, after preaching to others, I myself will not be disapproved.
Jesus Himself said that we must fight, and each bear his cross.
Mar_8: 34 And calling the crowd to himself with the disciples, he said to them: If anyone wants to come after me, let him deny himself, take up his cross, and follow me.
Denying ourselves, carrying a cross and following Jesus, is hard work, it requires training for life.
But suppose someone preaches that you don't have to do any of that. That you can do anything that salvation is guaranteed, that you can forget any rule of God or anything that causes you discomfort, and that even if you do everything you want your salvation to be guaranteed.
Who doesn't want such an idea? For this is the idea of pseudo-Christians, a cheap blood of Jesus, in which Jesus died to take to heaven people who like to disobey his laws, and the commandments of his Father. The Bible quotes such individuals.
2Ti 4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having a great desire to hear pleasant things, they will gather teachers for themselves according to their own desires,
So pseudo-Christians like to hear pleasant things, and will only accept teachers according to their wishes. For this they seek teachers who will speak pleasant things to you according to the sinful desires of your heart. So follow the commandments of God, carry the cross of Christ, deny self, and be holy as God is holy. These are pseudo-Christian things they don't want to do.
Notice the word Christian, Christian is one who follows Christ to the point that he resembles Christ. Let's look at the texts.
1Co_11: 1 Be my imitators, just as I am of Christ.
Eph_5: 1 Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children;
Gen_2: 3 God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified him; because in him he rested from all his work that he had created and done.
Now we have that Jesus did not sin, so to be like Jesus is to do your best not to sin. But if you sin what can you do?
1Jn_2: 1 My little children, these things I write to you, that you may not sin; but if anyone sins, we have an Advocate for the Father, Jesus Christ, the just.
And what sin is also defined as:
Rom_7: 7 What shall we say then? Is the law a sin? Not at all. However, I knew sin only through the law; because I would not know lust, if the law did not say: Thou shalt not covet.
So will pseudo-Christians ever want anything that determines them to change their sinful acts, and if a master says that salvation is guaranteed by doing all the sinful acts they desire, how will such pseudo-Christians want to change their lives? Rather, pseudo-Christians will attack everyone who goes against their libidinous ideas, and will cover their ears with the truth as seen in the text.
2Ti_4: 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but having a great desire to hear pleasant things, they will gather teachers for themselves according to their own desires,
So everyone who improves their life and tends to seek to follow God's counsel is attacked by pseudo-Christians, as they do not want to stop committing the sins they so desire. The idea of sinning and being saved brings them a dependency that disobedience will be rewarded. And the more people who adhere to this idea, the more their egos will try to apologize. For deep down these people know that they must be holy as God is holy, and they must be imitators of Jesus. But they want to close their eyes as the text says.
Mat 13:14 And in them is fulfilled the prophecy of Isaiah, which says: Hearing, you will hear, and in no way will you understand; and, seeing, you will see, and in no way will you perceive.
Mat 13:15 For the heart of this people was hardened, and they heard late with their ears, and closed their eyes, lest they see with their eyes, nor hear with their ears, nor understand with their heart, nor convert, and I heal them.
