One of the most interesting things nowadays is the search of the majority of society for empty information. What would be empty information? It would be information that is false, and serves only for sense pleasure. Many of them based on fake news.
Information such as math, science, general knowledge, or any other real information is ignored, but all humor programs, and any concept that cites easy paths are accepted, in all communication systems.
This is the praise of ignorance, lack of taste for real information and deep content. If entertainment systems become popular, information systems are disregarded. The difference between entertainment channels, and information channels are incredibly different.
Which makes society extremely susceptible to scientific denial. If we have widespread denialism in society, this is directly to blame for the kind of cultural tastes of the population. A population with a solid cultural system is highly immune to false information.
In fact, a popular culture system that generates a lot of empty information is essential so that the population does not have to choose paths with a solid base. That's because all solid decisions need solid information, added to the population's mind. But if that doesn't happen, popular decisions end up being empty, because what you don't know cannot be understood.
To solve math exercises, you have to know math. In the same way as solving any problem, it is necessary to know the fundamentals of the problem, and resolution mechanisms. But the society that spends much of its time having fun, does not have time to prepare to know the fundamentals of the problem, and still loses awareness of the difficulty of things.
Problem solving is usually extremely difficult to solve, and thus, without preparation, no rational method of solving the problem is formed.
As long as society does not change the way it chooses its contents, to solid information contents, not empty ones, society will remain on a path of self-destruction.
