Psalms 16, 17 and 18 - The protection of God

Keep me, O God, because I take refuge in you.
I say to the LORD, You are my Lord; I have no other good, but you alone.
As for the saints on earth, they are the notables in whom I have all my pleasure.
The LORD is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; you are the backer of my luck.
My currencies fall in pleasant places, my inheritance is very beautiful.
I bless the Lord, who advises me; for even during the night my heart teaches me.
The Lord, I always have him in my presence; he being on my right, I will not be shaken.
So my heart rejoices, and my spirit rejoices; even my body will rest safe.
For you will not leave my soul in death, nor will you allow your Holy One to see corruption.
You will make me see the ways of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy, in your right hand, pleasures perpetually.
I call on you, O God, for you answer me; bow my ears and listen to my words.
Show the wonders of your goodness, O Savior of those who seek refuge at your right hand.
Keep me like the apple of my eye, hide me in the shadow of your wings,
But I, in righteousness, will behold your face; when i wake up i will be satisfied with your resemblance.
The Lord is my rock, my citadel, my deliverer; my God, my rock on which I take refuge; my shield, the strength of my salvation, my stronghold.
I call on the Lord, worthy of praise, and I will be saved from my enemies.
Ties of death surrounded me, torrents of wickedness imposed terror on me.
In my distress, I called on the LORD, cried out for help to my God. He heard my voice from his temple, and my cry penetrated his ears.
To the benign, you show yourself benign; with the whole, also whole.
With the pure, pure you show yourself; with the wicked, unyielding.
Because you save the humble people, but the haughty eyes, you slaughter them.
God's way is perfect; the word of the LORD is tried; he is a shield for all who take refuge in him.
For who is God but the Lord? And who is a rock, if not our God?
The God who clothed me with strength and perfected my path,
he gave my feet the lightness of the roe deer and steadied me on my heights.
You have also given me the shield of your salvation, your right has sustained me, and your mercy has magnified me.
As the LORD lives, and blessed be my rock! Exalted be the God of my salvation,
I will glorify you, O LORD, and sing praises to your name.
