Psalms 5 and 6 - The Grace of God

Listen to my words, O LORD, and listen to my groan.
Listen, my King and my God, my voice that cries out, for I beg you.
In the morning, LORD, you hear my voice; in the morning I offer you my prayer and I wait.
For you are not a God who is pleased with iniquity, and evil does not remain with you.
The arrogant will not remain in your sight; you hate all who practice iniquity.
You destroy those who speak lies; the LORD abhors the bloodthirsty and the fraudulent;
but I, for the sake of your mercy, will enter your house and bow down before your holy temple, in your fear.
Lord, guide me in your righteousness because of my adversaries; make your way straight before me;
for they have no sincerity on their lips; your heart is all crimes; their throat is an open sepulcher, and they flatter with their tongues.
But let all those who trust in you rejoice; rejoice in joy forever, because you defend them; and those who love your name glory in you.
For you, O LORD, bless the righteous and, as a shield, surround him with your loving-kindness.
Lord, do not rebuke me in your anger or punish me in your wrath.
Have pity on me, O LORD, because I feel weak; heal me, O LORD, because my bones are shaken.
My soul, too, is deeply troubled; but you, O LORD, how long?
Return, O LORD, and deliver my soul; save me by your grace.
For in death there is no remembrance of you; in the tomb, who will give you praise?
I am tired of moaning so much; every night I make my bed swim, from the tears I flood it.
My eyes, with hurt, are numb, they grow old because of all my opponents.
Depart from me, all you who practice iniquity, for the Lord has heard the voice of my cry;
the LORD heard my plea; the Lord welcomes my prayer.
