Psalms 41 and 42 - He who cares for the poor

Blessed is he who cares for the poor; the LORD will deliver him in the day of evil.
The LORD will deliver you and keep you alive; he will be blessed on earth, and you will not give him up to the will of his enemies.
The Lord will sustain you in the bed of sickness; you renew your bed in sickness.
I said, Lord, have mercy on me; heal my soul, because I have sinned against you.
As for me, you support me in my sincerity and you have set me before your face forever.
Blessed be the Lord, from century to century! Amen and amen!
As the animal roars through the currents of water, so does my soul sigh for you, O God!
My soul is thirsty for God, for the living God; when will I enter and present myself before the face of God?
My tears serve as food for me day and night, because they say to me constantly: Where is your God?
When I remember this, I pour my soul into me; for I had gone with the crowd; I went with them to the House of God, with a voice of joy and praise, with the crowd that was celebrating.
Why are you downcast, O my soul, and why are you troubled in me? Wait on God, for I will still praise Him in saving His presence.
O my God, my soul is low within me;
An abyss calls another abyss, all your waves and waves have passed over me.
However, the Lord will send his mercy by day, and by night his song will be with me: prayer to the God of my life.
I will say to God, my Rock: Why have you forgotten me? Why am I in anguish because of the oppression of the enemy?
As with a mortal wound in my bones, my adversaries affront me, when all day long they say to me: Where is your God?
Why are you downcast, O my soul, and why are you troubled within me? Wait on God, for I will yet praise Him. He is the salvation of my face and my God.
