Salmos 102 - Listen, O LORD, to my plea

Hear my cry, O LORD, and let my cries come to you.
Do not hide my face from me in the day of my distress; bow my ears; the day I cry out, hurry to help me.
For my days, like smoke, fade away, and my bones burn like a furnace.
Wounded like grass, my heart is dried up; I even forget to eat my bread.
My bones are already clinging to the skin, because of my aching moan.
I am like the pelican in the desert, like the owl in the ruins.
I don't sleep and I'm like the lonely bird on the roofs.
For bread I have eaten ashes and mixed my drink with tears,
Like the shadow that declines, so do my days, and I dry myself out like grass.
But you, O LORD, remain forever, and the memory of your name, from generation to generation.
You will get up and have mercy; it is time to sympathize, and the hour has come;
because your servants love you.
All nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth, his glory;
he answered the prayer of the helpless and did not disdain his prayers.
This will be recorded for the future generation, and a people, which are to be created, will praise the LORD;
that the LORD, from the height of his sanctuary, has descended from the heavens to the earth,
to hear the groans of the captives and free those condemned to death,
so that the name of the LORD and his praise may be announced in Zion in Jerusalem,
when peoples and kingdoms come together to serve the Lord.
He hit me hard on the way and shortened my days.
I said: My God, don't take me halfway through my life; you, whose years span all generations.
In ancient times, you laid the foundations of the earth; and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They will perish, but you remain; they will all grow old as a garment, as clothing you will change them, and will be changed.
You, however, are always the same, and your years will never end.
The children of your servants will live in safety, and their offspring will be established before you.
