Bless the Lord, O my soul! O LORD, my God, how magnificent you are: overlaid with glory and majesty,
covered in light like a mantle. You stretch the sky like a curtain,
you put the framework of your home in the water, you take the clouds for your car and you fly on the wings of the wind.
You make your angels winds and your ministers, flames of fire.
You have laid the foundations of the land, so that it does not waver at any time.
You took the abyss for clothing and covered it; the waters were above the mountains;
at your rebuke they fled at the voice of your thunder and retreated.
The mountains rose, the valleys went down, to the place which you had prepared for them.
You have put the waters in the boundary that they will not exceed, so that they do not cover the land again.
You make fountains burst in the valley, whose waters flow between the mountains;
they give water to all the animals in the field; wild donkeys quench their thirst.
With them the birds of the sky have their landing and, between the branches, they sing their song.
From the top of your dwelling, you water the mountains; the land is satisfied with the fruit of your works.
You make the grass grow for animals and plants, for the service of man, so that he takes his bread out of the earth,
wine, which cheers a man's heart, oil, which brightens his face, and food, which sustains his strength.
The trees of the LORD and the cedars of Lebanon which he planted are invigorated,
where birds make their nests; as for the stork, his home is in the cypress trees.
The high hills belong to the mountain goats, and the rocks, the haven of the dormouse.
He made the moon to mark the time; the sun knows the time of its sunset.
You dispel the darkness, and the night comes, in which the animals of the jungle roam.
The little lions roar for their prey and seek sustenance from God;
when the sun comes, they withdraw and settle in their lairs.
The man leaves for his work and his duties until the afternoon.
What variety, O LORD, in your works! You have made them all with wisdom; the land of your riches is full.
Here is the vast, immense sea, in which beings move countlessly, small and large animals.
The ships and the sea monster that you formed to play in it pass through it.
Everyone expects you to give them food in due time.
If you give them, they collect it; if you open your hand, they get enough of goods.
If they hide their faces, they are disturbed; if they take their breath away, they die and return to their dust.
You send your Spirit, they are created, and thus renew the face of the earth.
The glory of the Lord be forever! Rejoice the LORD for his works!
With just looking at the land, he makes it tremble; he touches the mountains, and they smoke.
I will sing to the LORD as long as I live; I will sing praises to my God during my life.
May my meditation be pleasant to you; I will rejoice in the Lord.
Bless the Lord, O my soul! Hallelujah!
