We see several factors that can cause so much suffering:
- Consequences of the own errors of mankind;
- Consequences injustices of many people;
- Alert the people to repent because it is close to Tour de Jesus;
- Testing of character.
And what we want to emphasize here is the last factor ... are the trials and tribulations that people who have the fear of God pass.
We know from the Scriptures that Satan walks like a lion trying to prove that God's people is not true. He tried to Daniel in captivity, he tried to Elias when Jezebel wanted to kill him, he proved the prophet Jeremiah being chased, Isaiah and others more...
So Scripture warns us to the following fact: Be sober; watch; because the devil, your adversary prowls around as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour "I Peter 5: 8
In the story of Job we see this fact clearly! See in the Scriptures: "There was a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job; and was this righteous man, upright and feared God and eschewed evil "Jo1: 1.
We can see that Job was truly a man of God, perfect man walked with honesty and helped the poor,
widows and orphans. He was a man who did not practice injustice among people, but walked in sincerity and justice and all evil he saw in his way, he swerved.
One day there was a meeting of the representatives in heaven worlds created by God and Satan dared to want to participate this meeting, see the story:
"And on a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the LORD, and Satan came also among them. And the LORD said unto Satan, Whence come you? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, From roaming the earth, and walking through it.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job? There is no one on earth like him, blameless and upright, fearing God and shuns evil.
Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for naught?
Hast not thou made a hedge to it, and his house, and all that is? The work of his hands and blessed his cattle is increased in the ground.
But put forth thine hand now, and touch him at all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.
And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy hand; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. AND
Satan went forth from the Lord "Job 1: 6-12.
Only spare his life was God's command to Satan. Satan took everything that Job had: children, cattle, home, food, farms, servants ... and still smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.
Job suffered a lot from the loss of their children and their property, suffered much with the disease.
And the sin of accusation of his friends made him sad and also his wife giving bad advice.
See Job's dialogue with his wife, she said: Dost thou still retain thine integrity? Blasphemes God, and die. Job2: 9
"And I said: As talk of the foolish women would speak; receive good from God, and shall we not receive evil In all this did not Job sin with his lips. "Job 2:10
Often when we suffer difícieis situations, financial problems and diseases for example ... and sadness and discouragement take care of our being, many are those who accuse us even from within our house.
Other situations that the faithful people of God goes, is that people around them think for being Christians, for having God so close, it would be required to be rich and question? "... Where is your God?"
You who are reading this message should be questioning: why God allows these afflictions and suffering with its people? See:
The Lord in His providence had brought this evidence (Job), Abraham (Moses, Daniel) in order to teach you lessons submission, patience and faith lessons that should be recorded for the benefit of all those who were later called to endure affliction. God leads His children by a way that they do not know; but does not forget those who put their trust in Him, nor rejects. He allowed the affliction befall Job, but not abandoned. Consented to the beloved John was exiled to the lonely Isle of Patmos, but the Son of God met him there, and his vision was filled with scenes of immortal glory. God allows trials assail His people, so that by their constancy and obedience they themselves may enrich spiritually, and may his example be a source of strength to others. "I know the plans I have for you, saith the Lord; thoughts of peace and not of evil. " Jeremiah 29:11. The same trials that the most severely prove our faith, and make it seem that God has abandoned us, must lead us closer to Christ, so that we can testify all of our burdens at His feet, and experience the peace that He, in turn, will give us. God has always tried His people in the furnace of affliction. It is in the heat of the furnace that the dross is separated from the true gold of Christian character. Jesus watches the test; He knows what is needed to purify the precious metal, so that it can reflect the brightness His love. It is through severe suffering, decisive, that God disciplines His servants. He sees that some have capabilities that They may be employed in the advancement of His work, and puts such people to the test; in His providence He brings them into positions that
prove his character and reveal defects and weaknesses that have been hidden to your own knowledge. It gives them opportunity to correct such defects and adapt to His service. Show them their weaknesses, and teaches them to seek Him support; since He is their only help and safeguard. So it's reached his goal. They are educated, trained, disciplined, prepared to play the grand purpose for which they were given their capabilities. When God calls them to activity, they They feel ready, and heavenly angels can unite with them in the work to be accomplished on earth. Patriarchs and Prophets, pág100 and 101
