hem?dan (חמדּן, ḥemdān, ?pleasant?): A descendant of Seir, the Horite (Gen_36:26). Wrongly translated ?Amram? by the King James Version in 1Ch_1:41 (the Revised Version (British and American) ?Hamran?), where the transcribers made an error in one vowel and one consonant, writing (חמרן, ḥamrān), instead of (חמדּן, ḥemdān).
