(1) A descendant of Issachar, grandson of Tola, only son of Uzzi (1Ch_7:3).
(2) The leader of the singing at the purification of the people, on the occasion of Nehemiah's reformation; here rendered ?Jezrahiah? (Neh_12:42).

Izrahiah
(Heb. Yizrachyah', יַזְרִחְיָה, sprout of Jehovah sc. into the world), the name of one or two men.
1. (Sept. Ι᾿εζριά; Vulg. Israhia.) The son of Uzzi, and grandson of Tola, the son of Issachar (1Ch_7:3). B.C. cir. 1014. SEE OBADIAH.
2. (Sept. omits, but some copies have Ι᾿εζρίας, others Ι᾿εσρίας; Vulg. Jezraja; A.V. Jezrahiah.) The superintendent of the singers (doubtless a Levite) who celebrated the completion of the walls of Jerusalem after the Exile (Neh_12:42). B.C. 446.
