jem?nā̇-an (Ἰεμνάαν, Iemnáan): A city on the coast of Palestine; mentioned among those affected by the expedition of Holofernes (Judith 2:28; 3:1ff). The name is used for Jabniel, generally called ?Jamnia? by the Greek writers.

(Ι᾿εμναάν, Vulg. omits), a place mentioned in the Apocrypha (Jdt_2:20) among those on the sea coast of Palestine to which the panic of the incursion of Holofernes extended, no doubt JABNEEL SEE JABNEEL or JAMNIA SEE JAMNIA (q.v.).
