3. Son of Tola, the son of Issachar. 1Ch_7:2.
4. Son of Binea, and descendant of Saul. 1Ch_9:43.
5. The son of Hur, and ruler of a portion of Jerusalem. Neh_3:9. (B.C. 441).

(1) In David's family, Septuagint also Rhaphál (1Ch_3:21).
(2) A captain of Simeon (1Ch_4:42).
(3) A grandson of Issachar, Septuagint also Rhaphará (1Ch_7:2).
(4) A descendant of Saul (1Ch_9:43; in 1Ch_8:37 called ?Raphah? (רפה, rāphāh); Septuagint also Raphaı́).
(5) One of the repairers of the wall under Nehemiah (Neh_3:9).

Rephaiah
(Heb. Rephayah', רְפָיָה, healed of Jehovah; Sept. ῾Ραφαϊvα v. r. ῾Ραφαία, etc.), the name of five Israelites.
1. The second named of six sons of Tola, head of a family in Issachar (1Ch_7:2). B.C. ante 1658.
2. Son of Binea, and eighth in lineal descent from Saul's son Jonathan (1Ch_9:43). B.C. long post 1000. He is also called RAPHA (1Ch_8:37).
3. Son of Ishi, and one of the chieftains of the tribe of Simeon, in the reign of Hezekiah, who headed the expedition of five hundred men against the Amalekites of Mt. Seir and drove them out (1Ch_4:42). B.C. cir. 725.
4. Son of Hur, and ruler of “the half” of Jernsalem. He aided in rebuilding the wall (Neh_3:9). B.C. 445.
5. Son of Hananiah and father of Arnan, among the descendants of Zerubbabel (1Ch_3:21); the same with RHESA (q.v.) of the genealogy of Christ (Luk_3:27).
