(Heb. Tikvah', תַּקְוָה, a cord [as in Jos_2:18; Jos_2:21], or hope [as often]), the name of two Israelites.
1. (Sept. θεκκουέ v.r. θεκουάν; Vulg. Thecua.) The son of Harhas and father of Shallum, which last was the husband of the prophetess Huldah (2Ki_22:14). B.C. ante 632. He is elsewhere (2Ch_34:22) called TIKVATH SEE TIKVATH (q.v.).
2. (Sept. θεκουέ v.r. θέκωέ; Vulg. Thecue.) The father of Jahaziah, which latter was one of the rulers appointed to carry out the divorce of the Gentile wives after the Captivity (Ezr_10:15). B.C. 458.
