ZATHOES, 1Es_8:32, probably stands for Zattu. The name does not appear in the Heb. of the corresponding passage Ezr_8:3, to be corrected from 1 Es. so as to run Of the sons of Zattu, Shecaniah the son of Jahaziel.

zath?ṓ-ēz, za-thō?ēz (Ζαθοής, Zathoḗs; the King James Version, Zathoe): Name of a family, part of which returned with Ezra (1 Esdras 8:32), not found in the Hebrew of Ezr_8:5; probably identical with ?Zattu? of Ezr_2:8; Neh_7:13, many of which family went up with Zerubbabel, and so called also ?Zathui? (1 Esdras 5:12). See ZATTU.
