Hezrai
(2Sa_23:35). SEE HEZRO. Hez'ro (Heb. Chetsro', הֶצרוֹ, i. q. Hezron; Sept. Α᾿σαραί,Vulg. Hezro), a Carmelite, one of David's distinguished warriors (1Ch_11:37). He is called in the margin and in 2Sa_23:35, HEZRAI (Chetsray', חֶצְרִי, Sept. Α᾿σαρί,Vulg. Hesrai). B.C. 1046. Kennicott, however (Dissertation, p. 207). decides, on the almost unanimous authority of the ancient version, that Hezrai is the original form of the name.
