Saul's second son by Ahinoam (1Sa_14:49-50). The same as Abinadab, since his name does not appear in 1Ch_8:33; 1Ch_9:39, nor in the battle of Gilboa (1Sa_31:2), where Abinadab takes his place.

Ishui
(Heb. Yishvi', יַשְׁוַי, uniform), the name of two men.
1. (Sept. in Gen_46:17, Ι᾿εύλ; Vulg. Jessui, Auth. Vers. Isui; in Num_26:44, Ι᾿εσού, Jessui, Jesui; in 1Ch_7:30, Ι᾿ησουϊv, Jessui, shuai). The third named of the sons of Asher, and founder of a family that bore his name (Jesuites, Num_26:44). B.C. 1856.
2. (Septuag. Ι᾿εσσουί, Josephus Ι᾿εσούς, Ant. 6. 6, 6; Vulg. Jessui, Auth.Vers. Ishui). The second named of the three oldest sons of king Saul (1Sa_14:49); probably the same with ABINADAB (1Sa_31:2; comp. 1Ch_8:33). SEE ISH-BOSHETIT.
