(פָּרָה,parah,' i.e. fruitful, a heifer, Gen_32:15; Gen_41:2-27; and so rendered in Num_19:2-9; also a young milk-cow, 1Sa_6:7-14; "cow," Job_21:10; Isa_11:7; a "heifer" just broken to the yoke, Hos_4:16; put as a symbol of a voluptuous female, Amo_4:1 : sometimes in the Auth. Vers. for אֶלֶ,e'leph, usually an ox, as rendered in Psa_8:8; Pro_14:4; Isa_30:24; but fem. in Deu_7:13; Deu_28:4; Deu_28:18; Deu_28:51; also for כָּקָר, bakar', Deu_32:14; 2Sa_17:29; a beeve or one of a herd of cattle, elsewhere without distinction of sex, and rendered " ox," "bullock," " herd," etc.).
