ja-fı̄?a, jaf?i-a (יפיע, yāphı̄a‛): A town on the southern boundary of Zebulun named with Chisloth-tabor and Daberath (Jos_19:12). It is represented by the modern Yāfā, about 1 1/2 miles Southwest of Nazareth, near the foot of the hills. It was one of the places fortified by Josephus (Vita, 45; BJ, II, xx, 6).

Its modern representative, Yafa, lies one and a half miles south-west of Nazareth. It contains no ancient remains, except a few broken columns, and about thirty cisterns. For a description of the numerous grain-pits cut in the rocks see the Memoirs accompanying the Ordnance Survey, 1:353 sq.
