POOL, POND.ăgam, a collection of standing water, is distinguished from miqweh, a place into which water flows, or is led (Exo_7:19). The former may denote the water left in the hollows when the inundation of the Nile subsides, and the latter, reservoirs (cf. Gen_1:10, Lev_11:36). AV [Note: Authorized Version.] tr.
