Why did God create the Sabbath

We believe that God exists eternally, that is, he does not need the time to live.

In a moment of time the period of building a new planet came, this would be the Earth.

But the earth was a gaseous planet in its atmosphere and with liquids on its crust, so in this environment God created environmental cycles and nature, all these things in 6 days.

Now, it is rational that God is not tired, but ending the whole nature of Creation, including man, something happened on the seventh day: Blessed.

Here we have that God blessed, sanctified and rested on the seventh day. Therefore, we have that God sanctified the seventh day, soon the seventh day of the week became holy.

But why did God sanctify the seventh day?

God had finished all his work of creation, now it was necessary to mark a point where everyone remembered that creation was the work of God. So, God, sanctified the seventh day! A day to observe and feel that God has created all things.

But how should this day be dealt with? Keep in mind that there was no sin, there was no suffering, there was only peace. Then says the verse that God rested.

The term rest is shabbath . Yes, the same shabbath foundation as Saturday. Does this mean that God was tired and slept? Of course not, God is not tired.

"You do not know, have you not heard that the eternal God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, is not tired or fatigued? His understanding is inscrutable." Isaiah 40:28

But the foundation of the word shabbath is more than just rest.

Joy, contentment, love, generate rest that is defined as the pleasure of contemplation. Contemplating is the action of observing and meditating, feeling what is contemplated.

This contemplation is the shabbath , a day when all things are done and contemplated God's creation. So that contemplation strengthens the principles of gratitude, faith and trust in divine care.

That is what the sanctification of the seventh day was created for. So that the man is the best to benefit from the Sabbath.

"And he went on: The Sabbath was made because of man, and not man because of the Sabbath." Mark 2:27

Thus, for man, due to the various factors that one day like this makes him build tools of obedience within him.

Such a day is placed at the end of the week, notably to show that the importance of God is above nature, and that everything that happened in the previous days is due to God. Changing the day of its location leads to disregarding the importance of crowning divine power over nature.

It is necessary to understand that the Sabbath was made for man, because God would not need these feelings for himself. So that the rest of God is an example for man in the way it should be done during the millennia that were to come.

"Now when God had completed the work he had done on the seventh day, he rested on that day from all the work he had done." Genesis 2: 2

"And keep my Sabbaths holy; and they will serve as a sign between me and you that you may know that I am the Lord your God. Ezekiel 20:20

The Sabbath was set right after Adam's existence, to demonstrate that such a seventh-day sanctification is of generic origin for mankind and not for a simple group.

"For he who entered into the rest of God, he also rested from his works, as well as God from his." Hebrews 4:10

Notably this sanctification for the seventh day has a simple idealism and not an infinity of rules and concepts, as it aims merely at a period stipulated by God to dedicate himself to divine contemplation, through nature.

"That will be health for your flesh; and refreshment for your bones." Proverbs 3: 8
